Frequently Asked Questions
Dry Cleaning
Q: What is dry cleaning?
A: Dry Cleaning is a process for cleaning clothing and textiles using a chemical solvent other than water. The solvents used can clean delicate fabrics that cannot withstand the rough and tumble of a washing machine and clothes dryer. It can also eliminate labor-intensive hand washing.
Q: There is a stain on my garment, should I attempt to remove it at home?
A: No. When a stain is treated at home it puts the garment at risk of fabric damage and lessens the chances of the stain being removed by one of our experts. If you have a stain you should get it to us as soon as possible. The more recent a stain is the better chances we have of removing it. If you know what the stain is you should tell the clerk when dropping the garment off. This takes the guess work out of the picture.
Q: Will dry cleaning shorten the lifespan of my garments?
A: Dry cleaning prolongs a garments life. Not only do stains set with age, making the garment unwearable, but ground-in dirt and soil act as abrasives, causing rapid wear of fibers. Insects are attracted to soiled clothes and cause further damage.
Q: Can you clean my out of the ordinary article or garment (Ex: homemade items, teddy bears, purses, etc.)?
A: The best thing to do if you are unsure is to drop it off at any of our locations to be sent for evaluation at the main plant. We will have our in house expert take a look at the item and give you a call. We will never attempt to process anything in question without calling you first.
Q: Some other cleaners use garment covers that double as laundry bags (Converta Bags) do you?
A: Most of our customers prefer our standard bags however, we do keep converta bags in stock if anyone would like to use them. We ask that when you use the converta bags to please turn them inside out when putting your dirty garments in them so that your clean garments do not go on the same side as your dirty ones.

Repairs & Alterations
Q: How long will it take to complete a repair or alteration?
A: We usually ask for 10 days however, simple items such as hems & seams can be done in 4-5 days. Let us know if you need an item by a certain date and we will be more than happy to accommodate you if possible.
Q: I would like my garment hemmed or shortened. How should I bring the garment to you?
A: There are several ways that work well for us. You may pin the garment up to the desired height (Be sure to put the pin in the garment horizontally in line with the hem. Do not put the pin in vertically or we will be unsure of where the hem is to be made) or you can tell us a measurement (Example: 28'' in-seam or out-seam). If you are unsure of how to do this you can call our main plant and we can set up an appointment with the seamstress for you.
Q: Can I have my garment tailored but, not cleaned?
A: Absolutely. Once your item is finished being tailored or altered we will even press the item free of charge so it is ready to wear when you pick it up.
